7:30pm – 9:30pm Concert $30

Nirinjan Kaur has undertaken an ambitious goal of merging the sacred mantras and smoky vocals she is most loved for with the master musicianship of Matthew Schoening’s indelible cello. This duo has co-written melodies for mantras and shabds from the Sikh and Kundalini Yoga traditions, taking the music to a profound depth of experience. Both musicians have been trained from childhood in their art: Nirinjan in classical Indian vocals, and the yogic techniques of sacred chant, Matthew on the cello, which he has transformed with his signature use of live looping. In this duos live performances, and in their new album together, “From Within”, you are transported to a place of complete stillness where you can experience the mystery and wisdom held within each musical note and each mystical mantra.
We celebrate 11 years this September 6th, 2014! Karma Yoga has been a unique Metro Detroit destination for yoga practitioners and others seeking mind-body-spirit alignment. With locations now in San Diego, California, Bloomfield Hills, and West Bloomfield, MI (2015).
Our team of experienced teachers and staff create a nurturing sanctuary for our community, where you can work the physical body while opening to the possibilities of yoga for spirit, mind and overall well-being.
What makes Karma Yoga unique is our focus on the spiritual, philosophy and structural detail behind the poses we experience on our mats. Karma is home to all aspects of yoga, coordinated seamlessly for a flow of movement, meditation, devotion, breath and study. You’ll find all the limbs of yoga practiced here.
Karma Yoga offers a team of dedicated and talented teachers who each bring their own unique style, perspective and approach to living yoga. This conscious community is for anyone interested in expanding their possibilities – from the youngest among us (prenatal yoga!) to those with limitations (healing yoga!). Everyone is welcome, all the time. We don’t teach yoga; we grow light leaders!
