Growing up in the suburbs of Metro Detroit, standing 6'7” tall, Daniel Gottlieb, or “Yoga Dan,” had childhood dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. Dan pursued his dreams while simultaneously attaining his Bachelors of Interdisciplinary studies degree in Sociology and Mass Communications from Arizona State University. As a collegiate athlete, Dan's body went through tremendous force and eventually he found himself unable to perform competitively. From his injured state, he discovered the life-enhancing, heart opening practice of yoga. Dan found his true path.
Dan’s life is a testament to the healing power yoga has had on his own voyage to awaken, inspire and rehabilitate the body. Upon completion of his first Teachers Training in 2003, Dan has Taught Workshops and Events in Arizona, California, Ohio, Michigan and, Canada. While living in Arizona, Daniel was involved with a web series titled Yoga as an Afternoon Snack.
